Bohne Forsberg | BASS
Bohne arrived on the Jazz scene in 2003. He
co-founded Les Jazz Boyz, played at the local Jazzworks jam sessions and
the Ottawa Fringe Festival in 2004. In 2005 he formed Sonic Blue,
switched to the double bass and teamed up with piano to pursue the
classic Jazz sound. Through 2006, he performed around Ottawa at swing
dance gigs for The Ottawa Swing Dance Society and Carleton University.
In 2007, his studies with Berkley graduate J.J. Brunelle led to creating
Jazz in Aylmer Sundays featuring duets with local jazz musicians: Mike
Tremblay, Peter Forêt, John Steele, Rob Martin, Amy Brandon and
others.
In the fall of 2007 he performed with music legends Curtiss Fuller and
David Fathead Newman and a special evening at Café Paradiso with
guitarist René Gely. Infuences include: Ron Carter, Charles
Mingus, Ray Brown, Rufus Reed, and John Geggie.
