Albert Kaprielian | PIANO
Albert has enjoyed an eclectic musical career, having studied classical piano, composed and recorded music for documentary films, performed with
several pop/rock bands, sung in choirs and jazz bands, accompanied singers, and performed for corporate and private parties, pubs and restaurants. Albert first fell for jazz when he heard Buddy Tate and Zoot Sims playing sax with the Carol Britto Trio at the Royal York Hotel in his native Toronto back in the 1980s. Over the years Albert has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the standards repertoire and since about 2005 has been exploring modern jazz, blues, and Latin music. His main piano influences are Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett. Albert joined Sonic Blue in the fall of 2007 and has been playing regularly with the band at various private functions and restaurants in Ottawa.
